Skin tags are small, soft, benign growths that typically appear where skin rubs against skin or clothing — the neck, eyelids, underarms and along the bra line are the usual places. Those features do not mean something is wrong, but they are exactly what a doctor needs to examine rather than a spa. If our specialist is not confident a growth is a straightforward skin tag, we will decline to treat it and refer you on. That is the correct outcome, not an inconvenience, and it is why we assess every tag individually rather than working through them in bulk.

What happens during the session

1. Individual assessment. Each growth is examined and confirmed as a suitable skin tag before anything is done. Anything uncertain is referred rather than treated.
2. Cleansing and preparation. The area is thoroughly cleansed. Numbing is used where appropriate, particularly for larger tags or sensitive areas.
3. Removal, one at a time. Each tag is removed with a precise, minimally invasive technique using sterile single-use tools.
4. Aftercare and instructions. The area is treated and protected, and you are told exactly how to look after it — this is where results are made or lost.

What to expect afterwards

Each treated point forms a small scab that falls away on its own, typically within one to two weeks depending on the size of the tag. Mild redness and tenderness for a day or two is normal. The skin underneath is usually a little pink at first and settles over the following weeks.

Keep the area clean and dry, and let the scab come away by itself. Picking it off early is the single thing most likely to leave a mark or a small scar. Avoid swimming pools and heavy sweating while healing, and once the scab has gone, keep the new skin out of the sun or covered with sunscreen — fresh skin pigments easily and can darken into a visible spot that lasts far longer than the tag did.

Practical questions guests ask

• Does it hurt? Most guests describe a brief sharp sensation or pinch per tag. Numbing is used where appropriate. Discomfort is short-lived because each tag takes only moments.
• Will it grow back? A properly removed tag does not return in the same spot, but people prone to skin tags commonly develop new ones nearby over time. That is the tendency, not a failure of the treatment.
• How many can I have done at once? Several in one visit is usually fine. Your specialist may suggest splitting a large cluster across two appointments so healing is more comfortable.
• Can tags on the eyelid be treated? Tell us the location when booking. Areas very close to the eye need particular care and may be better referred to a doctor.
