Skin renews itself constantly, and in this climate the spent cells sit on the surface rather than shedding cleanly — held there by sweat, sunscreen and humidity. That layer is what makes skin look flat and feel rough, and it is also what stops moisturizer reaching the skin underneath. Removing it is why the change after a scrub is immediate and tactile rather than gradual.

3. Thorough rinsing. Every trace removed, since scrub left behind is what makes skin feel tight afterwards.
4. Moisture while the skin is receptive. Applied immediately, when absorption is at its best.
